Cyber Safe Generation
What do we want to do?
This three-year project will partner with school-based digital safety clubs, youth-led peer networks, and local organisations — equipping them with the confidence, skills, and networks to design and implement movements that raise awareness and push for safer digital spaces. The focus is on cyberbullying, sextortion, doxxing, and digital exclusion — issues that increasingly impact adolescents, particularly girls and marginalised youth.
The goal is to empower Bhutanese youth to spearhead movements against online violence and cultivate their long-term leadership to safeguard the rights and well-being of young people within the country's evolving digital landscape.
What we need to make it happen?
We are seeking $325,000 USD over 3 years to implement this SHIFT movement. The following breakdown outlines project costs:
Project Costs (Activity Costs):
Membership to the SHIFT Global Network, including training, mentorship, and creative/campaign support
Recruitment, training, and facilitation of local child and youth-led changemaker groups
Fees for Creative Buddies, including design and production of movement materials
Campaign seed funding directly managed by the youth group (or with their input)
Movement storytelling: youth-led filming and impact documentation
Travel, workshops, and logistics to support youth participation
Local staff coordination and project oversight
Small follow-on grants via the Carrot Fund to strengthen sustainability
