Through SHIFT, these youth-led groups will gain structured support to design and lead impactful, locally relevant movements that influence behaviour, strengthen resilience, and expand community participation in climate solutions.

    Young people in China represent a powerful but under-leveraged force in the national climate response. SHIFT will help unlock that potential by providing clear action pathways, flexible funding, mentorship, and access to a globally connected peer network. Through this, we will transform youth concern into coordinated, constructive leadership for a greener future.

  • This 2-year project will partner with local, established changemaker groups who are already active in their communities — equipping them with the confidence, skills, and networks they need to design and lead movements to influence public discourse on issues that are most relevant to them. Young changemakers can also lobby with government agencies for systems strengthening to address youth related issues.

    The goal is to transform their energy and ideas into sustainable community-led solutions — while also investing in local youth to become independent agents of change, beyond the support of any institution.

Transformando Realidades (We Shift Realities) Youth-led Action to Prevent Child Recruitment and Exploitation Online

  • In Colombia, SHIFT will back youth-led groups in high-risk territories like Cauca and Nariño — equipping them to respond to the urgent and growing threat of online child recruitment. Through this project, Transformando Realidades, young people will lead the charge against digital exploitation by raising awareness, shifting harmful narratives, and protecting their peers through creative, community-rooted movements.

Weaving Hope: Nurturing El Salvador’s change generation

  • This 2-year project will partner with local and established changemaker groups who are already active in their communities. We will equip them with the confidence, skills, and networks they need to design and implement movements influencing public discourse, on issues that are most relevant to them.

    The goal of our project is to transform energy and ideas into sustainable, community-ed solutions, while also investing in the long term capacity of young leaders to become agents of change, well beyond the support of any single institution.

Unlocking Education for All

  • We will aim to reduce out-of-school rates in target areas by 30%, bringing back over 14,000 children into education, and ignite sustainable youth-led movements to drive the importance of education and re-set community expectations around the central barriers young people face. 

    To achieve this, the project will address the four biggest barriers preventing vulnerable children, especially girls, from accessing school:

    1. Child Marriage

    2. Early Pregnancy

    3. Child Labour

    4. Internal Displacement and Migration

  • We are seeking $300,000 USD over 3 years to implement Phase 1 of SHIFT in Ethiopia.

Youth Movements for Equality, Safety, and a Greener Future

  • The project will invest in local, youth and child-led groups across Kosovo from diverse ethnic backgrounds, including children with disabilities, to provide them with skills, networks, and resources to lead impactful campaigns on issues that matter the most to them. This approach builds on the momentum of the child-led campaign #KryeqytetiPaMakina (Capital Without Cars), where children where shaped public discourse on environmental issues and secured the partnership of municipal authorities (including the Mayor) for greener public spaces in Prishtina.

  • Over 12 months, we’ll work with creative, inclusive youth groups already active in their communities. We’ll equip them with the skills, confidence, networks, and funding they need to design and lead powerful, youth-driven movements that challenge adult-dominated decision-making and reimagine what advocacy looks like when led by young people.

    Our goal: to transform the energy, creativity, and leadership of children and youth into movements that shift public opinion, inspire action, and influence decision-makers.

  • We are seeking $90,000 over 12 months to implement SHIFT in the Philippines.
